BoatPhotos.co.uk was formed in 2005. Based in Portsmouth we are a multi-award-winning enterprise, able to move up and down the south coast at will enabling us to photograph, and video, a wide variety of craft and backdrops. Within a few hours of capture we can manage the website, upload photos, process orders etc.
Equipment
As we have a background in Film & TV our equipment inventory is extensive. As aspiring brand ambassadors for Sony we work with a lot of their flagship and time-proven photographic and cinematographic hardware - A7Siv, A7Riv, F5, as well as with drones from Autel and DJI. Lenses are primarily Sony and Canon zooms, though we do on occasion and as the needs arise, defer to cinema glass primes, and vintage photographic glass. On the water the most essential requirement is to be able to stabilise the shots, stills or moving image, whether that be internally within the camera or lens, or externally using any number of sized gimbals. The most important parts of our kit in this regard are the DJI Ronin MX and Zhiyun Crane 2 gimbals. The versatility of shots for fast moving watercraft requires good autofocus lenses with solid internalised stabilisation, and in combination with high resolution image capture, fast zoom autofocus, and hand-holdable gimbals, obtaining up close and distance shots comes without too much hassle.
